I use them every day to save time and increase productivity.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve <a href=\"https:\/\/www.practicalecommerce.com\/free-chrome-seo-extensions\">addressed<\/a> my favorite Chrome extensions for keywords, authority, and analytics. What follows are my favorites, all free, for on-page auditing \u2014 to find errors, identify areas of improvement, and analyze competitors.<\/p>\n<h3>Link Checkers<\/h3>\n<p>Free Backlink Checker is available for <a href=\"https:\/\/chrome.google.com\/webstore\/detail\/free-backlink-checker-by\/nifeadedgedikheglfngocdgfidiiimi\/\">Chrome<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/addons.mozilla.org\/en-US\/firefox\/addon\/free-backlink-checker-by-lrt\/\">Firefox<\/a>. This free extension scans a page for links and generates a report containing:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Internal and external links,<\/li>\n<li>Anchor text for each link,<\/li>\n<li>Target root domain of each link,<\/li>\n<li>Link status (broken, unverified),<\/li>\n<li>Nofollow attributes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I use Free Backlink Checker to extract all links and export into Excel for additional analysis, such as sorting by domain and header status. It, too, is available for <a href=\"https:\/\/chrome.google.com\/webstore\/detail\/broken-link-checker\/nibppfobembgfmejpjaaeocbogeonhch\">Chrome<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/addons.mozilla.org\/en-US\/firefox\/addon\/find-broken-links\/\">Firefox<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I typically use a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.practicalecommerce.com\/seo-7-reasons-to-use-a-site-crawler\">web crawler<\/a> to find broken links. But there&#8217;s no easy way to differentiate variations of words (plural vs. singular) or phrases with varied word sequences (&#8220;the blue shirt&#8221; vs. &#8220;the shirt is blue&#8221;).<\/p>\n<p>Highlight Magic and Multi-Keywords Highlighter both check differing words and combinations \u2014 all identified with unique colors. The extension analyzes a page, extracts the primary keyword, and suggests related concepts to improve relevancy for a targeted search query.<\/p>\n<p>TextOptimizer assigns an overall score, which I don&#8217;t focus on. It highlights nofollow links on any page, helpful for tracking internal and external link equity and detecting mistaken nofollow attributes.<\/p>\n<p>NoFollow is especially useful for older websites that use the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.practicalecommerce.com\/is-googles-nofollow-change-a-peek-into-seos-future\">now ineffective<\/a> &#8220;PageRank sculpting&#8221; and for older WordPress plugins that used the tactic.<\/p>\n<p>However, only NoFollow&#8217;s Firefox version checks for nofollow meta tags. To check in Chrome, try <a href=\"https:\/\/chrome.google.com\/webstore\/detail\/link-redirect-trace\/nnpljppamoaalgkieeciijbcccohlpoh\">Link Redirect Trace<\/a>, another extension, which also tracks indexation status and Robots.txt crawl errors.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s no &#8220;running&#8221; NoFollow and Link Redirect Trace. Both automatically highlight nofollow links on a page when loaded in a browser.<\/p>\n<h3>Schema.org Validators<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/chrome.google.com\/webstore\/detail\/ryte-structured-data-help\/ndodccbbcdpcmabmiocobdnfiaaimgnk\">Ryte Structured Data Helper<\/a> is a Chrome extension.
