I used the latest iteration of each platform: ChatGPT4 and Gemini Advanced.<\/p>\n<p>Here are my findings.<\/p>\n<h3>On-page Optimization<\/h3>\n<p>My initial prompt:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>My target keyword is &#8220;audio textbooks.&#8221; This is my article [URL]. Is it well-optimized for that keyword?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>ChatGPT listed what it considered:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>I&#8217;ll check:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>The presence and usage of &#8220;audio textbooks&#8221; in critical areas (title, headers, etc.).<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Overall content structure and readability.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Relevant linking practices.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Technical aspects like mobile responsiveness and loading speed.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It then produced generic recommendations, indicating it didn&#8217;t analyze the page. Here&#8217;s what it offered for internal links (I&#8217;ve bolded the text):<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Ensure some internal links to other relevant content on your site are included <strong>if not already.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Gemini was even less helpful, stating,<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>I wasn&#8217;t able to determine from the article itself whether it is optimized for the keyword. However, I can search on the web and see if there are any SEO best practices that you can follow to improve your article.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I then pasted the entire article into the Gemini prompt. It made no difference. Gemini failed to analyze the content and instead provided routine <a href=\"https:\/\/www.practicalecommerce.com\/10-do-it-yourself-seo-tips-to-save-money\">SEO tips<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Content Helpfulness Analysis<\/h3>\n<p>My next prompt:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Is my article helpful for someone searching for audio textbooks? How can I make it more helpful?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Both responses were worthwhile. ChatGPT <a href=\"https:\/\/www.practicalecommerce.com\/my-favorite-chatgpt-prompts-for-seo\">provided good ideas<\/a> missing from my article, especially &#8220;Accessibility Features.&#8221;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>Expand Content:<\/strong> Include detailed reviews of various platforms offering audio textbooks, comparing features like user experience, availability of titles, and subscription costs, if any.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>User Guides:<\/strong> Provide step-by-step guides on how to access or download these audiobooks from mentioned sites.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>Accessibility Features:<\/strong> Discuss accessibility options available for visually impaired or dyslexic users.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Gemini offered its own good idea:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>The article could be more helpful by including a table that compares the different options, such as cost, selection of textbooks, and ease of use.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, this time Gemini accessed my page. Make it a table.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Both platforms provided <a href=\"https:\/\/www.practicalecommerce.com\/how-google-uses-keywords\">useful keywords<\/a>\u00a0and listed &#8220;free audiobooks&#8221; as the top suggestion.
