The process typically requires aggregating page and query data on multiple spreadsheets.<\/p>\n<p>Expensive tools can help create those spreadsheets, but few small and medium-sized businesses can afford them. Here&#8217;s how to create a detailed SEO spreadsheet for free.<\/p>\n<h3>1. Export from Search Console<\/h3>\n<p>Start with Google Search Console&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.practicalecommerce.com\/seo-6-critical-reports-on-the-new-google-search-console\">&#8220;Performance&#8221;<\/a> section to export the best- and worst-performing pages into a Google Sheet or Excel. Search Console is free and provides detailed reports that include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Organic clicks for each page within a specified period,<\/li>\n<li>Average position of your site for organic queries,<\/li>\n<li>Organic click-through rate for each keyword.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A freemium Google Workspace app called <a href=\"https:\/\/workspace.google.com\/marketplace\/app\/search_analytics_for_sheets\/1035646374811\">&#8220;Search Analytics for Sheets&#8221;<\/a> facilitates customized exports from Search Console, such as consolidating and exporting two key sections, &#8220;queries&#8221; and &#8220;pages&#8221;:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Best performing URL,<\/li>\n<li>The search query driving the most clicks to that page,<\/li>\n<li>The page&#8217;s average position for each search query,<\/li>\n<li>Number of clicks that URL generates from all queries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You may end up with a spreadsheet with URLs listed multiple times. This will immediately identify quick opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>From that initial export, here are additional tools to add <a href=\"https:\/\/www.practicalecommerce.com\/10-do-it-yourself-seo-tips-to-save-money\">critical SEO data<\/a> to the spreadsheet.<\/p>\n<h3>2. Add Search Volume<\/h3>\n<p>Add search volume to the spreadsheet via <a href=\"https:\/\/searchvolume.io\/\">SearchVolume.io<\/a>, which pulls the average monthly volume for up to 800 keywords in bulk. The tool requires no registration. To avoid the complexity of merging two spreadsheets:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sort both spreadsheets by queries (A &gt; Z),<\/li>\n<li>Paste the spreadsheet with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.practicalecommerce.com\/chrome-extensions-for-search-console\">search volumes<\/a> into the initial master sheet,<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the two columns with queries are the same,<\/li>\n<li>Remove the duplicate column with queries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>3.
